“Blackfuturism: a full color spectrum of blackness” is my first curated group show. This exhibition honors the limitless and unbridled creation, imagination, and innovation that we have as black artists, and the beauty we all have inside us.

As a part of my 2023 BIPOC Residency at Eno Arts Mill in Hillborough, NC, I was granted a main gallery show. I chose to do an all-Black group exhibition showcasing local artists. The term blackfuturism is inspired by my love of Afrofuturism, which “expresses notions of Black identity, agency and freedom through art, creative works and activism that envision liberated futures for Black life.” (NMAAHC)
